Leapfrog: Innovations to Power the Next Wave of Healthcare

The healthcare sector of India has it own set of myriad challenges, and some of these can be addressed by disruptive startups bringing in innovative solutions. The importance of startups in bringing in the much-needed impetus to the bourgeoning problems of the healthcare system of the country was recognized by several VCs and till a year back funds flowed in. However, in the past few months, the startup ecosystem has been undergoing a reset with VCs now treading a cautious path when it comes to investments. The focus is no longer on hyper growth but has shifted towards creating sustainable businesses that are efficient and profitable.

While much of the initial euphoria around investing in startups has toned down, the need for innovation has not. There exists a huge gap in the healthcare system in India in terms of infrastructure, enhancing quality of services and accessibility. Startups play a crucial role in bridging this gap through innovative solutions and disruption of traditional models leading to enhanced patient experience.
